Job summary

Pike Engineering is seeking a Senior Electrical Substation Engineer to lead design and technical direction for utility substation projects, including transmission, battery energy storage systems, and solar substations.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage project schedules and budgets, and support proposal development while collaborating with client engineers to deliver safe, cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to be licensed within a year.
• 5–7 years of experience as an engineer in electrical power delivery.
• Ability to lead a team of engineers and designers and mentor junior staff.
• Experience with project cost estimating and supporting business development.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering/technical guidance to identify, analyze, and resolve problems.
• Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor work activities.
• Produce thorough technical reports, correspondence, calculations, and sketches.
• Lead substation design work and ensure accurate physical arrangements.
• Mentor and supervise junior engineers and designers.
• Manage project budgets and schedules; support proposals.
