Job summary

Pike Engineering in Marietta, GA seeks a Senior Substation Engineer to provide leadership, technical direction, and supervision for a Transmission Substation engineering and design team delivering safe, cost-effective projects.

You will oversee complex HV substation designs, participate in proposals and business development, mentor junior staff, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery across projects including battery energy storage and solar collector substations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a practicing engineer
• Licensed Professional Engineer
• Experience leading engineering/design teams on substation projects
• Experience with HV transformers, breakers, PTs, CCVTs and related substation equipment

Responsibilities

• Lead discipline work for projects and supervise 4-8 direct reports
• Provide technical direction on complex substation design and engineering problems
• Create and implement QA/QC checklists for substation designs up to 500kV
• Visit sites to advise on physical engineering issues and modify designs as needed
• Support proposal development, project cost estimating, and business development efforts
