Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineering Lead for Substations in a hybrid role working with the Energy Evolution Practice.

This position calls for an experienced electrical engineer to lead substation design, support energy project delivery, and manage client relationships as part of an integrated team. The ideal candidate will have strong project leadership, market connectivity, and hands-on experience with transmission/distribution substations, CAD tools, and design

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering or related field; MS a plus.
8+ years of experience required.
5+ years experience in electrical substation area preferred.
Experience with ETAP, CDEGS, CAPE, Aspen a plus.
Experience with Microstation and AutoCAD software a plus.
Familiarity with NEC and NESC.
Experience in the northeastern U.S. is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead and grow the electrical engineering service primarily supporting transmission/distribution substations.
Engage in business development and client relations.
Manage physical electrical aspects of substation projects from initiation to closeout.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary substation teams and serve as client-facing contact.
Develop/review drawings, material lists, calculations, and specifications.
Support construction through site visits and RFIs/submittal reviews.
Monitor and manage project financial performance.
Build and mentor staff to develop skills and goals.
