Job summary
VHB is seeking an Electrical Engineering Lead (physical electrical) with extensive substation experience to join the Energy Evolution Practice. The role combines design, permitting, and delivery on transmission and distribution substations, working with civil, structural, environmental, planning, and regulatory teams in a hybrid office setting.
You will lead projects, develop drawings and studies, mentor staff, and drive business development with strong client relationships and market
Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering required; MS a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering.
- 5+ years in electrical substations preferred.
- Experience with NEC/NESC and design standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the electrical engineering service for substations.
- Engage in business development and client relations.
- Manage physical electrical aspects of substation projects from initiation to closeout.
- Collaborate with multidiscipline teams and serve as client-facing lead.
- Develop/review drawings, calculations, and specifications.
- Support construction through site visits and RFI reviews.
- Monitor project financial performance.
- Mentor staff and build a strong team.
