Job summary

Electric Power Systems is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to coordinate testing and commissioning across electrical transmission and distribution substations for utility clients. You will supervise startup personnel, contractor electricians, and engineering staff to ensure safe, compliant project execution.

The role requires 5+ years in electrical equipment testing, HV experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical equipment testing and inspection, including high voltage applications.
• Knowledge of testing, commissioning and maintenance of power equipment.
• Excellent management and supervisory skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Broad experience with transformers, breakers and switchgear.
• Experience in working in utility transmission substation is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise testing and commissioning activities for electrical transmission and distribution substations.
• Ensure procedures comply with company standards, client requirements and industry best practices.
• Lead startup personnel and contractor teams to ensure safe, efficient project execution.
• Develop work plans and oversee testing during commissioning, including field engineering tasks.
• Prepare RFIs, mark up drawings, and drive project closeout documentation on schedule.
