Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking an experienced Substation Commissioning Lead to verify transmission substation equipment, ensure design feasibility, and direct engineers and technicians. You will oversee protection system testing, relay calibration, and documentation to support timely turnover to the client.

Ideal candidates have OSHA 10 Hour Training and 8+ years of startup experience, with an emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience with protection schemes, settings, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Ability to review test plans, provide technical troubleshooting and SME guidance.
• Strong communication and coordination across engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead protection system commissioning and ensure conformance to project specs and contracts.
• Provide direction to technicians and staff engineers during commissioning.
• Review and approve relay test results and commissioning documentation.
• Coordinate with DM for post-commissioning review and handover to the client.
