Job summary
Electric Power Systems seeks a Commissioning Engineer to coordinate testing and commissioning of electrical distribution and transmission substations for utility clients in North America. You will supervise startup personnel, contractor electricians, and engineering staff, ensuring safety and adherence to standards.
The role requires at least 5 years in electrical equipment testing, strong communication, and experience with HV equipment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical equipment testing and inspection.
- Experience in testing, commissioning and maintenance of power equipment.
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen due to safety-sensitive position.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and lead testing and commissioning of new and existing electrical transmission and distribution substations (greenfield and brownfield).
- Supervise startup personnel, contractor electricians, and engineering teams for safe, efficient project execution.
- Develop work plans and oversee testing activities during commissioning.
- Prepare and execute integrated functional test plans for protection, control, and SCADA systems.
- Lead troubleshooting and issue resolution during commissioning, including corrective action plans.
