Job summary

Mortenson is hiring a Structured Cabling Foreman Technician to lead the daily activities of a structured cabling installation crew. You will supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of fiber optic and copper cabling, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

The role requires leadership experience, ability to read drawings and schematics, and a strong knowledge of cabling standards. Travel and overtime may be required on project sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience in structured cabling, telecommunications, or related construction field.
• Experience leading a crew of technicians or installers.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and telecom schematics.
• Knowledge of industry standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI, building codes).
• Willingness to travel and work overtime as project needs require.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and telecom schematics to determine work procedures.
• Lead and direct daily activities of the structured cabling crew.
• Assign tasks and monitor crew productivity to meet milestones and schedules.
• Install, test, and certify fiber optic and copper cabling systems.
• Coordinate with project supervision and other trades on site.
• Enforce safety policies and conduct toolbox talks.
