Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Journeyman Technician to plan, organize, and direct craft teams on the project schedule while ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.

The role includes assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical wiring and low-voltage cabling, reading plans, and documenting work. A minimum of five years of related experience, a high school diploma or GED, and current driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum five years of related experience.
• Trade or technical school certification/diploma.
• Mortenson training.
• Current driver’s license.
• Ability to read plans and understand English; capable of operating construction tools.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
• Complete physical installations of structured cabling components, cabinets, pathways, and related communications infrastructure materials.
• Install and service low voltage cabling and related systems (e.g., Cat5/6, fiber).
• Document work using time reporting and QC inspection formats.
• Test electrical systems and continuity; study plans and drawings to determine work requirements.
