Job summary

Alpine, an ITW company, is seeking an Engineering Team Lead to drive high-quality structural solutions for builders and truss manufacturers across North America. You will lead a team of engineers and designers, guide complex design work, and collaborate with customers and internal partners to deliver reliable outcomes.

The role emphasizes leadership, technical excellence, and continuous improvement, with travel up to 10% and a strong focus on safety and code compliance.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering emphasizing statics and material mechanics.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification required.
• Experience with truss engineering, component design, or drafting for building components is preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of TPI, NDS, ASCE-7, and other applicable codes and design standards is a plus.
• Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
• Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with design software tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing team of engineers and designers.
• Prioritize, assign, and manage incoming work to meet customer deadlines.
• Review and guide complex truss designs for safety, code compliance, and practicality.
• Provide technical support, consult on design challenges, and conduct site visits.
• Partner with sales, technical teams, and software development to improve tools and workflows.
• Champion engineering standards, deliver training, and drive process improvements.
