Job summary

HBK Engineering, LLC is seeking a Structural Engineering Specialist to lead design for overhead and subsurface utility projects. You will coordinate detailed design phases, interface with clients, and mentor entry-level staff while ensuring compliance with codes and specifications.

The role demands a BS in Engineering (ABET), a PE license preferred, 4–10 years of structural experience, and strong CAD/GIS skills. Travel is anticipated, and the position offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• PE license preferred.
• 4–10 years of structural engineering experience.
• US driver’s license and US work authorization.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Strong Office365 and software skills.
• 2D CAD proficiency (AutoCAD or equivalent).
• Experience reviewing drawings and materials.
• Training experience with staff.

Responsibilities

• Design engineering systems for overhead and subsurface utilities.
• Lead design phases and coordinate work with the team and clients.
• Train entry-level staff and perform QC reviews.
• Interface with clients and prepare detailed documents using AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS.
• Analyze survey data and prepare clear reports for clients.
• Manage project risks with leadership and meet milestones.
• Travel as needed (less than 30%).
