Job summary

HBK Engineering, LLC seeks a Structural Engineering Specialist to lead design coordination for complex utility projects in Chicago or Oak Brook. You will supervise detailed design phases, interface with clients, and ensure quality control across electrical, structural, civil, and construction aspects.

The role requires a BS in engineering from an ABET program, 4–10 years of relevant experience, and strong CAD/GIS capabilities. Travel is <30% and there is leadership responsibility within the engineering track.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program.
• PE license is preferred but not required.
• Minimum 4 to 10 years of structural engineering experience.
• US driver’s license and US work authorization.
• Ability to work independently and in teams with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead design coordination for utility engineering projects.
• Prepare detailed engineering documents using CAD and GIS tools.
• Interface with clients to discuss engineering topics and provide support.
• Train entry-level staff and conduct quality control reviews.
• Manage project milestones and travel as needed (less than 30%).
