Job summary

HBK Engineering, LLC is seeking an Electrical Associate Graduate Engineer to design overhead and subsurface utility systems while developing creative and unique solutions to address electrical, structural, civil, and construction-related challenges. The role covers ownership of the design lifecycle from initiation through construction closeout with enhanced client communication and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• EIT Certification preferred but not required.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering or utility design.
• US driver's license and US work authorization.
• Ability to work independently and in interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong proficiency with Office365 and project documentation tools.
• Familiarity with 2D CAD software and drafting standards.

Responsibilities

• Design engineering systems for overhead and subsurface utilities per specs and codes.
• Develop creative solutions to address electrical, structural, civil, and construction challenges.
• Own all design lifecycle phases from initiation to closeout and client communication.
• Prepare detailed documents using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and GIS platforms.
• Analyze survey data, atlas information, field sketches, and datasheets for accuracy.
• Create clear reports and studies to meet client requirements.
• Collaborate with project management to manage risk and timelines.
• Explain complex engineering matters to management and field teams.
• Manage time effectively to hit project milestones and schedules.
• Conduct field walkdowns with clients, authorities, and partners.
