Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a Project Lead Structural Engineer to guide a team of structural engineers, interface with clients and other disciplines, and manage a variety of challenging projects.

The role emphasizes knowledge of materials, steel/ concrete design, and proficiency with advanced structural analysis tools; travel to client and plant sites is expected.

ABET BSCE required with 10+ years of experience; MSCE and PE/SE are valued. Excellent communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BSCE in Structural Engineering.
• 10+ years in design/analysis of industrial/heavy commercial or nuclear structures.
• Proficiency with STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL or ANSYS.
• Proficiency with ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI codes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Guide a team of structural engineers and interface with clients and other disciplines.
• Direct preparation and review of design calculations, specifications, reports and drawings.
• Supervise and mentor others in engineering deliverables.
• Perform analysis and design of steel frames, concrete members, and foundations.
• Travel to client and vendor sites for design reviews and field verification.

Education

BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited program

MSCE degree
