Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a lead design engineer in Cranberry Township (hybrid schedule: 3 days in the office, 2 days remote). You will guide a team of structural engineers on nuclear facility projects, interfacing with clients and other disciplines to deliver design calculations, specifications, and drawings for upgrades and new builds.

You will apply expertise in materials, structural analysis, steel and concrete design, and ensure compliance with ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI codes while mentoring

Qualifications

• BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering and strong design background.
• 10+ years of experience in design/analysis of industrial/heavy commercial or nuclear facility structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL or ANSYS).
• Familiarity with design codes: ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; PE or SE license.
• MSCE degree is valued but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of structural engineers on nuclear facility projects and upgrades.
• Interface with multiple disciplines and clients; guide design calculations and drawings.
• Direct structural analysis and design of steel frames, concrete members, and foundations.
• Travel to client/vendor offices or plant sites for design reviews and field coordination.
