Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior structural engineer to lead design and analysis for nuclear facilities, including upgrades and new projects. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, guide junior engineers, and apply advanced structural concepts to steel, concrete, and foundation systems.

The role supports a hybrid schedule (3 days in Reading, PA and 2 days remote) and offers opportunities to travel for reviews and field coordination with clients and vendors.

Qualifications

• ABET‑accredited BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• Seven or more years of experience on design and analysis of structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
• Proficiency with design codes and standards such as ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and analysis of structural projects for nuclear facilities and upgrades.
• Prepare and review design calculations and specifications; guide junior staff.
• Perform structural analysis of steel frames, concrete members, and foundations.
• Travel to client and vendor sites for design reviews and field verification.
