Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a lead design engineer in Reading, PA to guide a team of structural engineers on nuclear facility projects and upgrades. The role involves interfacing with multiple disciplines and clients, coordinating calculations, specifications, and drawings, and potentially traveling for reviews and site coordination.

The ideal candidate has a BSCE with a structural emphasis, 10+ years of relevant experience, and a PE or SE license, with proficiency in major structural analysis

Qualifications

BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering.
10+ years of experience in design/analysis of industrial/heavy commercial/nuclear facility structures.
Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
PE or SE license.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of structural engineers and interface with other disciplines and clients.
Guide design calculations, develop specifications, and coordinate drawing development.
Prepare and review structural analysis and designs for steel frames, concrete members, and foundations.
Travel to client/vendor offices and plant sites for reviews and field verification as needed.
