Job summary

Hargrove & Associates Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer III to perform comprehensive civil/structural designs under supervision in a Philadelphia-based role.

You will develop layouts, prepare calculations, and coordinate with drafting and other disciplines to ensure accurate, code-compliant deliverables. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in civil/structural engineering, applies IBC/ASCE/AISC/ACI standards, and can lead small to mid-size teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Civil Engineering; structural coursework required.
• Professional Engineer license preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant civil/structural engineering experience.
• Knowledge of the IBC and related standards (ASCE/AISC/ACI).
• Ability to lead a small to medium project team.
• CAD skills: AutoCAD or MicroStation; MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete civil/structural design tasks under supervision.
• Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies to determine efficient approaches.
• Produce preliminary designs and material take-offs for project estimates.
• Create detailed design calculations and sketches for materials of construction.
• Check calculations for accuracy and code compliance; review others’ work.
• Coordinate with drafting group to resolve layout and detailing issues.
• Advise senior engineers on design or scope changes; assemble project packages.
• Review vendor drawings and submittals for conformance to specifications.
• Perform field work to collect data and support construction.
• Lead small to medium teams and foster interoffice collaboration.
