Job summary

RTX is seeking a mid-level Senior Structural Engineer in Tucson, AZ, onsite, to perform detailed structural analyses spanning development to production and to present results to customers and internal stakeholders. The role requires strong knowledge of finite element methods and classical engineering analyses.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience, a STEM degree (advanced degrees welcome), and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5+ years of relevant experience (master’s/PhD may substitute)
• Experience in structural analysis using engineering software (PATRAN/NASTRAN/ANSYS/ABAQUS)
• Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural analyses to support all program phases
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance
• Analyze test data to validate models and generate loads
• Lead technical peer reviews and present results to stakeholders
• Travel to test sites to support discussions
• Lead teams to develop department processes and tools
