Job summary

OneFourTwo Design Group in White Plains, NY, seeks a Lead Structural Engineer to drive building design from concept through construction.

The role requires 5+ years in structural engineering, PE or ability to obtain within 6 months, and proficiency with Revit and major analysis tools. You will work on diverse projects and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams onsite.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• At least 5 years in structural building design (commercial focus preferred).
• Ability to design for steel, concrete, masonry, and light gage steel; foundational know-how.
• Proficiency with Revit to produce construction-level drawings.
• Experience with RAM Structural System, SAP2000, or RISA.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects and communicate with clients, drafting staff, and others outside the project team.
• Prepare preliminary designs for clients.
• Review building codes to ensure proper design implementation.
• Attend client meetings and coordinate with project stakeholders.
• Produce structural calculations for construction documents and during construction.
• Produce construction-ready drawings coordinated with all disciplines.
• Manage construction administration tasks such as shop drawing review and RFI responses.

Education

We are looking for a highly motivated Structural Engineer who is passionate about the construction process to lead structural building design out of our White Plains, NY office. A Day In The Life

• Manage projects and communicate with clients, technical drafting staff, and others outside the project team
• Prepare preliminary designs for clients
• Review building codes to assure proper implementation in design
• Attend client meetings, coordinate with construction project managers, architect, civil, and mechanical engineers
• Produce structural calculations for implementation with technical drafting staff during preparation of construction documents as well as construction
• Produce construction ready design drawings coordinated with all disciplines to assure completeness and accuracy
• Manage construction administration tasks such as shop drawing review, RFI responses, and coordination with the construction teams

Necessary Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil/Structural Engineering
• 5+ years of structural engineering building design experience (commercial experience is ideal)
• Ability to prepare structural designs for steel, concrete, masonry, light gage steel, and understanding of foundation design
• Proficiency using Revit independently to create construction level structural drawings is required
• Knowledge of analysis and design programs such as RAM Structural System, SAP2000, RISA, or another recognized 3D design packages preferred
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, or ability to obtain within 6 months

Typical base compensation for the Lead Structural Engineer role is between $90,000.00 - $115,000.00. Candidates with extensive experience may exceed this range. In addition to the base salary, the role is eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation based on individual and company performance.
