Job summary

OneFourTwo Design Group in Houston, TX is seeking a motivated Structural Engineering Intern to support our team through design, drafting, and analysis tasks. You will gain hands-on experience in the construction process and contribute to real projects under supervision.

As an Intern/Co-op, you will work with drafting staff and engineers, learn to review codes, and assist with construction documents using Revit, developing skills across disciplines for a successful career in structural

Qualifications

• Minimum GPA 3.0 out of 4.0.
• Enrolled in Civil Engineering degree program (Graduate or Undergraduate).
• Previous construction or engineering internship/co-op experience is a plus.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with drafting staff, clients, and project team members.
• Prepare preliminary designs for clients.
• Review building codes to ensure correct implementation of design.
• Attend client meetings and coordinate with construction PMs, architect, civil, and mechanical engineers.
• Produce structural calculations for construction documents and permit submittals.
• Produce construction-ready drawings using Revit and coordinate with all disciplines.

A Day In The Life

We are looking for a highly motivated Structural Engineering Intern who is passionate about the design, engineering, and construction process to join our team. At OneFourTwo, an Intern/Co-op has the opportunity to assist their team with the following:

• Communicate with technical drafting staff, clients, and other outside project team members
• Prepare preliminary designs for clients
• Review building codes to assure correct implementation of preparation and design
• Attend client meetings, coordinate with construction project managers, architect, civil, and mechanical engineers
• Produce structural calculations for implementation with technical drafting staff during preparation of construction documents for permit submittal as well as construction
• Produce construction ready design drawings using Revit and coordinate with all disciplines to assure complete and accurate alignment

Necessary Qualifications

• Minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 out of 4.0
• Enrolled in Civil Engineering degree program (Graduate or Undergraduate)
• Previous construction or engineering internship/co-op experience is a plus
• Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong work ethic
