Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior-level structural designer in Reston, VA to develop 3D plant layout models and lead coordinated design phases. You will generate schematics, review layouts, and mentor junior drafters as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities include collaborating with engineers, providing guidance to peers, and supporting field data collection when required. Strong signaling of drafting experience and software proficiency is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Essential drafting/design experience and ability to produce structural layout drawings.
• Experience reviewing structural layouts with steel frames, concrete members, and supports.
• Proficiency with 3D plant layout models and design software tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural physical layouts in 3D models within the design team.
• Lead coordination of detailed design phases for integrated structural models.
• Generate structural design schematics and mentor junior drafters.
• Coordinate with engineers and other designers to ensure timely completion.
• Assist senior designers during field walkdowns and data gathering when needed.
• Provide guidance to project team members to ensure quality deliverables.
