Job summary

Forsgren Associates, Inc. is seeking a motivated Structural Bridge Engineer to design, analyze, and deliver transportation structures including bridges and culverts.

You will work under supervision on smaller projects or as a technical contributor on larger efforts, collaborating with internal teams and clients while maintaining responsibility for structural tasks. Responsibilities include plan, analysis, and design, PS&E package preparation, load rating, modeling/analysis, and construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible structural design experience.
• Experience in concrete, steel, and/or prestressed concrete bridge design is preferred.
• Working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
• Familiarity with ITD and/or LHTAC standards is preferred.
• Experience with structural analysis software such as CSiBridge, SAP2000, LPILE, RISA3D, or similar.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, analyze, and design transportation structures, including calculations and technical reports.
• Prepare PS&E packages including plans, specs, and cost estimates.
• Perform bridge load rating and structural modeling/analysis.
• Prepare engineering reports and memoranda.
• Review shop drawings and provide construction-phase support.
• Lead construction cost estimation and quantity takeoffs.
• Ensure designs comply with codes, standards and permitting requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on integrated solutions.
• Support Idaho transportation agencies and local clients, ITD and LHTAC.
