Job summary

Forsgren Associates, Inc. in Utah is seeking a motivated Structural Bridge Engineer to join our Structural Engineering Department. This role focuses on design, analysis, and delivery of transportation structures such as bridges, retaining walls, and culverts, with Idaho projects in scope.

Under supervision you will perform calculations, models, reports, and coordinate with internal teams and clients. PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months is required, along with 5+ years of bridge

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or related field.
• PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible structural design experience.
• Experience in concrete, steel, and/or prestressed concrete bridge design preferred.
• Working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
• Familiarity with ITD/LHTAC standards and design practices preferred.
• Experience with structural analysis software such as CSiBridge, SAP2000, LPILE, RISA3D, or similar.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, analyze, and design transportation structures including calculations and reports.
• Prepare PS&E packages and engineer’s cost estimates.
• Perform bridge load rating and structural modeling/analysis.
• Prepare engineering reports and technical memoranda.
• Review shop drawings and provide construction-phase engineering support.
• Assist with or lead construction cost estimation and quantity takeoffs.
• Ensure designs comply with codes, standards, and permitting requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and ITD/LHTAC clients.
