Felsburg Holt & Ullevig is seeking a senior structures engineer to lead bridge and structural design across the Midwest, with responsibilities as a project manager on upcoming pursuits. You will serve as a senior client contact, guide design teams, and ensure quality across complex transportation projects.

The role requires a civil/transportation background with 10–15 years in bridge/structural design, and proficiency in structural analysis software; Nebraska, Iowa, and SD experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil/transportation engineering with emphasis on bridges and structural design.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 10–15 years' experience as a bridge/structural design engineer.
• Advanced experience with structural analysis and design software.
• Experience with AASHTO standards; Nebraska/Iowa/South Dakota bridges a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead bridge and structural design projects from concept to final design.
• Serve as senior project engineer and client contact; participate in interviews and meetings.
• Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and conduct field visits for contract compliance.
• Prepare budgets, estimates, scoping, and forecast workload for teams.
• Direct design efforts for complex transportation projects and ensure quality.
• Contribute to quality system tasks and use software to prepare documents.
