Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of technical presales experience in the storage industry, including 3+ years leading or managing presales or technical teams.
• Proven track record of building high-performing teams and growing pipeline and revenue across direct and partner sales models.
• Experience supporting multiple customer segments, such as commercial, public sector or channel.
• Strong technical background in enterprise storage and data management, including block, file, backup, ransomware protection and hybrid cloud.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of presales engineers and technical architects across segments, and build a culture of technical excellence, accountability and collaboration.
• Hire, onboard and retain top technical talent, and build clear development plans, certification paths and career growth for each team member.
• Set team goals and priorities that line up with HPE storage and segment business objectives, and measure performance against them.
• Align engineer coverage to accounts, partners and territories to get the most impact and pipeline growth from the team.
• Partner with segment sales leaders and account teams to generate, qualify and progress storage opportunities across direct and partner-led motions.
• Guide the team on solution design, proofs of concept and competitive strategy for strategic and complex deals, and engage directly on key opportunities.
