Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced Training Specialist to design, develop, and execute comprehensive training for flight operations, engineers, AI&T, launch services operators, and payload customers across In-Space System programs. You will lead targetted training areas, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and run simulators to ensure mission success.

The role emphasizes scalable training infrastructure development, on-call hours, and travel to support activities.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in engineering, education, or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience in developing and executing training for mission support operators and engineers in a space oriented, military, or government environment.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills to lead technical training and debriefs.
  • Experience writing training course materials (lesson objectives, plans, evaluation criteria, hands-on activities).
  • Ability to travel to support training activities; typically <10 per year.
  • Ability to support varied workday hours; on-call support may be required.
  • Self-starter with strong coordination skills; manage multiple tasks.
  • Proven ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team and build cross-group relationships.
  • U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute training for ops controllers, engineering support, AI&T, launch services operators, and payload customers for all In-Space System vehicles.
  • Lead specific training areas or initiatives and take direction from senior staff.
  • Collaborate with engineers, ground software, flight control operators, and payload customers to ensure relevant training for successful mission support.
  • Run simulators and training assets for hands-on practice and rehearsals.
  • Define requirements and support development of future training simulators and interfaces.
  • Evaluate operator proficiency and currency; develop ad hoc training as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of operator training completion.
