Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced training designer to create and run mission-support programs for ground and spaceflight operations. You will develop lessons, conduct hands-on events, and run rehearsals to ensure reliable training across vehicles within the In-Space Systems program.

You will lead initiatives, collaborate with flight vehicle engineers and payload customers, and continuously improve training content. Travel (<10 trips/year) and flexible hours may be required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a B.S in engineering, education, or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience in developing and executing training for mission support operators and engineers in a space oriented, military, or government environment.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills to lead technical training and debriefs.
  • Experience writing training course materials (lesson objectives/plans, evaluation criteria, activities).
  • Ability to travel to support training activities (<10 per year).
  • Self-starter with strong coordination skills across multiple tasks.
  • Ability to earn trust and work with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute training for ops controllers, engineering support, and payload customers.
  • Lead specific training areas or initiatives and coordinate with senior staff.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure relevance for mission support.
  • Run simulator and training assets for hands-on practice and rehearsals.
  • Define requirements and support development of future training simulators and interfaces.
  • Evaluate operator proficiency and adapt training as needed.
