Job summary

CesiumAstro in Westminster, MD, seeks a Principal Spacecraft Mechanical Engineer II to lead a team responsible for spacecraft structures, interfaces, and mechanisms across development stages.

You will guide mechanical design from concept to qualification, mentor engineers, and coordinate with GNC, EPS, CDH, payload, RF, and AI&T teams while delivering robust designs and supporting customer reviews.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited program.
• 11+ years in communications satellite structures and mechanisms design.
• 5+ years leading technical teams; prior flight mission contributions.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers for mechanical aspects of spacecraft through all lifecycle phases.
• Define architecture, conduct trades, analyses, and verify via qualification tests.
• Present design reviews to customers and executive leadership; support proposals.
