Job summary

Lockheed Martin Corporation is seeking a Lead Modeling & Simulation Engineer in Sunnyvale, CA, to spearhead the integration, development, and scaling of the Space Based Interceptor end-to-end missile simulation. You will lead a technical team responsible for unifying legacy models into a high-fidelity framework covering SBI mission, fire control, GNC, and seeker phenomenology.

The role demands translating system requirements into physics-based code, validating models, and driving real-time

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading simulation software development workstreams, small technical teams, and driving on-time execution.
• Experience developing 6-DoF missile or satellite simulations and translating mission requirements into models.
• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect, scale, and maintain the end-to-end interceptor simulation framework.
• Oversee development and integration of 6-DoF dynamics and thruster/actuator models.
• Incorporate threat behavior and seeker tracking loops for accurate endgame intercepts.
• Benchmark, calibrate, and validate outputs against hardware testing and flight tests.
• Interface with Systems Engineering and Government stakeholders to translate data into actionable insights.
