Job summary

Blue Origin is pioneering the future of space-based communications with TeraWave, a revolutionary satellite network enabling symmetrical data speeds globally. The Spacecraft Bus Avionics team drives requirements, design, analysis, and testing of avionics hardware for a space-rated component, from concept through qualification and production release.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
  • 7+ years designing ruggedized high-reliability hardware.
  • 7+ years designing, testing, and debugging switching DC/DC power supplies, including PCB layout.
  • End-to-end space-rated component development from requirements through production release.
  • Board bring‑up, manufacturing support, and hardware validation experience.
  • Experience designing hardware for radiation environments and space qualification.
  • Digital design with FPGAs, CMOS sensors, DDR memory, and DC/DC integration.
  • Altium Designer PCB design including multi‑laminate stackups, impedance control, EMI/EMC mitigation.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end product development for a space-rated component.
  • Provide leadership as a member of a cross-disciplinary team.
  • Participate in the design cycle of flight and mission-critical avionics.
  • Collaborate to define requirements and architecture.
  • Incorporate PCB interconnects and power integrity analyses.
  • Develop and implement controller algorithms for converter performance.
  • Design avionics solutions for high reliability in harsh environments.
  • Create mechanical interface definitions and control documents.
  • Plan and conduct engineering tests and data reviews.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers.
  • Review designs and documentation.
