Job summary

Blue Origin in Washington state seeks a senior avionics test engineer to drive requirements, design, analysis, test, and critical review for the TeraWave system from concept through qualification and flight support.

You will lead bench-, vehicle-, and pre-launch electrical test campaigns, collaborate with manufacturing, and push for scalable test architectures and automation to reduce cycle time and improve first-pass yield.

Qualifications

  • Develop and maintain the avionics test strategy and verification matrix.
  • Derive electrical test requirements from specs, ICDs, schematics, and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate cross-functional interface test requirements.
  • Lead test procedure development, review, and qualification workflows.
  • Drive test automation and data acquisition to reduce cycle time.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical test campaigns including power-on, functional verification, and EMI/EMC testing.
  • Investigate and resolve electrical test anomalies; drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Partner with manufacturing to ensure test infrastructures integrate with production flow and tooling.
  • Identify and drive test automation, instrumentation, and data acquisition to shorten cycles.
  • Design test interfaces for producibility and scalable test architectures across multiple vehicles.
  • Track unit-to-unit test time, first-pass yield, and anomaly rate as readiness indicators.
