The Oaks at Whitaker Glen, part of PruittHealth, is hiring a Sous Chef to lead our high-end, scratch-kitchen operation in Raleigh, NC. You will assist the Executive Chef in managing culinary operations, driving consistency, creativity, and excellence in every dish while promoting teamwork and professional standards.

Ideal candidates bring refined culinary skills, strong leadership, and a passion for exceptional food and service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Proven leadership and training abilities.
Experience in a fast-paced, upscale kitchen.
ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations with the Executive Chef.
Lead and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to recipes, standards, and presentation.
Train and mentor cooks, prep staff, and dishwashers to improve skills and performance.
Conduct daily lineups and onboarding/retention of top culinary talent.
Ensure smooth service during all meal periods.
Oversee mise en place, prep schedules, and line setup for accuracy.
Enforce health and safety protocols and cleanliness requirements.
Foster a positive, disciplined kitchen culture.
Maintain composure during high-volume service periods.
