Job summary

Primoris Renewable Energy seeks a Substation Superintendent to provide input and technical expertise for substations on utility-scale solar and BESS projects. You will supervise on-site activities, coordinate with engineers and subcontractors, and ensure safety, quality, and cost control during commissioning and testing.

You will lead field operations, enforce safety standards, and mentor staff while interfacing with the owner and engineering teams to drive successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to supervise many employees.
• Good communication skills to deal with owners and employees.
• Possess a solid understanding of job costing.
• Ability to read and understand prints and contract documents.
• Knows and understands the required federal and state codes for the project.

Responsibilities

• Track schedules for equipment, materials, testing for subcontractors to maximize production and minimize costs.
• Collaborate with other projects to share resources.
• Train and implement standardized Work Plans and Work Assists; support process improvements.
• Act as an electrical consultant to supervisory and field personnel on circuits, power quality, switchgear, and HV systems.
• Supervise all electrical subcontractors to ensure effective use of resources and adherence to processes.
• Enforce safety regulations and maintain safe working conditions on site.
• Assist Site Manager in communicating and negotiating with the owner regarding major decisions.
• Assist energization and switching to PV plant during commissioning.
• Oversee relay testing, control house construction, SCADA, and fiber installation.
