Job summary

HDR's Building Engineering Services Group seeks a civil engineer to design production for site layouts, drainage, grading, and utilities across diverse projects. You will perform quantity calculations, prepare specs, and engage in complex design decisions.

The role may act as a Technical Specialist or PM on mid-size projects and may involve supervising staff. Required are a Bachelor's degree, PE license, and proven leadership and communication skills, with proficiency in CAD and Microsoft

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
Previous experience in general civil engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligible.
Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Active participation in employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

Design and plan production for general civil on a wide variety of projects, including site layouts, grading, drainage, paving, and utilities.
Perform quantity calculations.
Prepare specifications and contract documents.
Handle complex assignments with engineering judgment.
Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed.
Serve as Technical Specialist or Project Manager on mid-size projects when required.
Supervise a small staff of professionals and technicians.
