Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Shop Supervisor in Portage, IN to lead a team of heavy equipment mechanics and yard staff. You will ensure quality maintenance, safety, and efficiency in servicing rental equipment, while guiding technicians and coordinating with customers.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Own a general mechanic's tool set and expand as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop schedules for mechanics and yard technicians.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and propane systems.
• Operate boom lifts, forklifts, generators, and other equipment.
• Communicate effectively with customers.
• Audit and maintain documentation, timesheets and logs.
• Manage parts and maintain a clean workspace.
• Assist mechanics and with service records.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
