Job summary

Herc Rentals Lafayette seeks a Shop Supervisor to lead the heavy equipment service team and ensure safe, timely maintenance. You will train and oversee mechanics, yard workers, and utility staff, while upholding our quality standards and professional customer service.

The role requires a strong mechanical background, leadership abilities, and the capacity to coordinate maintenance and repair activities across the branch. Compensation includes a base salary and bonuses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Own a general mechanic's tool set and be willing to expand your collection.

Responsibilities

• Develop consistent schedules for mechanics and yard technicians for maintenance of heavy equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and propane systems.
• Operate equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, generators, pumps, and related tools.
• Communicate effectively with customers and document all repair orders and logs.
• Manage parts inventory and maintain organized work areas; assist with duties as needed.
