Job summary

Reworld is seeking a Shift Supervisor to oversee safe, compliant operation of our facility during assigned shifts, including direct oversight of boilers, turbines and steam systems. You will conduct rounds, coordinate personnel and ensure compliance with safety and environmental permits.

The role requires 3+ years of supervisory experience in heavy industry, an active NJ Boiler Operator license, and hands-on boiler/turbine expertise. Rotating shifts (days/nights) including weekends are expected.

Qualifications

• Three plus years of supervisory experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Active New Jersey Operating Engineer/Boiler Operator license required.
• Hands-on experience with high-pressure boilers and electric generating equipment.
• Detailed knowledge of steam-generating power plant operations, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Experience in power plant or resource recovery operations preferred.
• HS diploma or GED required; BS degree preferred.
• Ability to work rotating shifts (days/nights), including weekends, holidays, outage periods, and vacation coverage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe working environment and adherence to company policies and safety protocols.
• Maintain plant operations within environmental limits and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise operation of boilers, turbines, and steam plant systems.
• Respond to injuries, accidents, and emergencies.
• Approve equipment clearances, lockout/tagout and safety permits.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate maintenance.
• Maximize facility performance, reliability and efficiency.
• Direct completion of shift inspections and housekeeping tasks.
• Lead projects from Operations Manager.
• Train and develop shift personnel to build cross-trained workforce.
• Maintain site-specific certifications.
