Job summary

Velvet Taco is hiring a shift leader to oversee hourly team members and ensure guests have a friendly, efficient experience at our Preston Forest/Dallas location. You will execute opening, mid, and closing duties while maintaining food safety and accuracy in every shift.

Qualified candidates will lead with urgency, de-escalate issues, and manage cash handling and POS tasks. The role requires 21+ and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• 2 years of experience as a Shift Leader/Supervisor in a restaurant.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Regularly exposed to heat and/or humid conditions.
• Lunch and dinner rushes require multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Allergen exposure to wheat, nuts, gluten, soy, and milk products.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
• Must lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
• Handle stressful situations with composure and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Manages hourly team members and interacts with guests professionally.
• Executes opening, mid, and closing duties daily per standard procedures.
• Handles guest concerns and resolves issues positively.
• Performs cash handling, sets up POS drawers, and manages deposits during shifts.
• Leads by example to motivate teams to follow procedures with urgency.
• De-escalates conflicts between team members and listens to concerns.
• Supports management with inventory processes.
• Maintains high food safety standards during shifts and checks dates.
