Job summary

Velvet Taco in Midtown Nashville is hiring a Shift Leader to supervise hourly team members and ensure a welcoming guest experience. You will open, run, and close shifts, handle guest concerns, and manage cash handling and deposits according to Velvet Taco procedures.

The role emphasizes food safety, team leadership, and adherence to recipes, with opportunities to mentor teammates and maintain a fast-paced, friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• 2 years of experience as a Shift Leader/Supervisor in a Restaurant Environment.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays depending on Restaurant needs.
• Regularly exposed to heat and/or humid conditions.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Manages the Hourly Team Members and interacts with Guests in a friendly, professional, and responsive way.
• Executes opening, mid, and closing duties daily following Velvet Taco's standard procedures and recipe guidelines.
• Skilled at handling Guest concerns and guiding them toward a positive resolution.
• Adept at cash-handling, setting up POS drawers, performing comps and voids, and managing deposits during the shift.
• Present self as a leader among the Team Members and one that motivates others to follow procedures and maintain urgency for a positive Guest experience.
• Skilled at de-escalating issues between Team Members and ensuring team cohesion.
• Supports Management with the inventory process.
• Keeps food safety as a high priority during the shift by line checks, shelf storage and expiration date checks for prepped food, and keeping the restaurant clean and orderly.
• Manages the daily prep list and signs off on all prepped items to ensure adherence to specifications and flavor profiles.
