Job summary

MetLife seeks a Lead Software / Platform Engineer to drive design, development, and optimization of the ServiceNow Platform across ITSM, ITOM, and HRSD. You will shape platform architecture for scalability, reliability, and enterprise-grade solutions, aligning with CSDM and CMDB governance while mentoring teams.

The role requires deep ITSM/ITOM expertise, strong scripting, Flow Designer, and IntegrationHub skills, plus Agile/DevOps experience.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience focused on ServiceNow platform engineering and architecture.
Strong hands-on expertise in ITSM, including core process design, workflow automation, and operational reporting.
Proven expertise in ITOM with deep experience in Discovery, Event Management, Service Mapping, and CMDB design aligned to CSDM.
Deep knowledge of ServiceNow scripting, including JavaScript and Glide APIs.
Strong experience with Flow Designer and IntegrationHub for ITSM and ITOM orchestration and automation.
Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Architect, design, and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing ServiceNow solutions across ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, and other platform capabilities.
Lead ITSM processes including Incident, Problem, Change, Request Fulfillment, and Knowledge Management, ensuring best practices and standards.
Lead ITOM implementations with Discovery, Event Management, Service Mapping, and health modeling aligned to CSDM standards.
Own the CMDB strategy, including data model design, Discovery patterns, data quality, relationship integrity, and lifecycle governance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design workflows, and deliver ITSM and ITOM enhancements, automations, and integrations.
Mentor engineers and developers, fostering technical excellence, operational stability, and continuous improvement.
Establish and enforce platform governance, architecture patterns, code quality standards, and best practices across ITSM and ITOM solutions.
Design and implement integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise systems using APIs, web services, and middleware technologies.
Stay current with ServiceNow releases, features, and industry trends to proactively drive innovation and optimization.
