Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb in Seattle, WA seeks a Principal Scientist for Engineered Cell Therapy Discovery. You will lead programs for engineered CAR T and eTCR T cells, guiding concepts from discovery through preclinical development and in vivo validation.

You will mentor scientists, optimize genetic constructs, and coordinate multicenter collaborations across wet lab, computational, and clinical teams to advance transformative cell therapies with rigorous documentation and strategic direction.

Qualifications

  • PhD or equivalent in Life Sciences with 4+ years post-degree experience.
  • Master's degree with 6+ years experience in academia or industry.
  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years experience.
  • Preferred: PhD in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Bioengineering or related discipline with leadership of independent programs.
  • Strong publication and/or patent record in immunology or cell therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Provides scientific leadership and sets strategic direction for engineered CAR T and eTCR T cell programs.
  • Leads in vitro screening for T cell cytotoxicity and effector functions.
  • Designs genetic constructs, including logic-gated circuits and delivery methods.
  • Mentors junior scientists and coordinates across cross-functional teams.
  • Supports translation of in vitro data into in vivo xenograft studies.
  • Drives go/no-go decisions and communicates strategy to senior leadership.
  • Contributes to IND-enabling studies, patents, and publications.
