Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Principal Scientist for Engineered Cell Therapy Discovery in Seattle. The role focuses on leading efforts to develop engineered CAR T and eTCR T cell therapies for cancer and chronic diseases.

You will guide strategies, mentor scientists, and collaborate with cross-functional and external partners to advance drug discovery. The candidate will drive go/no-go decisions, oversee IND-enabling work, and contribute to publications and patents.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent with 4+ years of experience in academia/industry.
• MS with 6+ years experience in related field preferred.
• BS with 8+ years of experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific leadership and set strategic direction for research programs.
• Lead in vitro functional screening for T cell cytotoxicity and efficacy.
• Design and optimize genetic constructs and delivery methods.
• Mentor junior scientists and coordinate cross-functional teams.
• Translate in vitro data to in vivo xenograft studies to guide decisions.
• Drive collaboration across sites and disciplines.
