Taher Incorporated in Alabama's K-12 dining program is seeking a Lead Cook to oversee meal preparation, menu writing, and team guidance.

You will follow standardized recipes, manage ordering and inventory, ensure compliance with USDA/HACCP standards, and monitor costs to protect budget while delivering high-quality meals.

This full-time position offers guaranteed hours with no nights or weekends, daily lunch, uniforms, PPE, training and opportunities for advancement in a culture of inclusion.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to teach, train and direct a team.
• Good computer skills.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
• Successfully pass a criminal background check.

Responsabilités

• Follow standardized recipes and write menus.
• Ensure all meals meet quality standards, are correctly prepared and within acceptable time limits.
• Managing ordering, receiving, storing and inventory control of all perishable products following specific procedures and HACCP standards.
• Reinforcing USDA regulations.
• Conducting cost control analysis while monitoring product and menu costs.
• Controlling waste and effectively managing cost and budget performance.
• Using time management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by leadership.
