Job summary

Taher, Inc. is seeking a Head Cook to join our team in a school dining environment. You will prepare meals from standardized recipes, supervise kitchen staff, ensure quality and safety, and manage inventory and costs in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 2 years previous experience in a school food service setting preferred.
• Ability to lead a small team and follow directions.
• Strong communication skills with staff and clients.
• Follow safety and hygiene standards in a kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares a variety of food through standardized recipes.
• Ensure meals meet quality standards and are prepared within time limits.
• Direct food service staff in preparation, setup and serving of meals.
• Prepare menu items for regular and a la carte lines.
• Maintain HACCP standards and inventory control of perishables.
• Monitor temperatures of refrigeration and freezer units.
• Conduct cost control analysis and manage waste and budget.
• Support nutrition education in school and community.
