Job summary

University Medical Center of El Paso is seeking a supervisor to coordinate daily scheduler operations, triage urgent cases, and oversee pre-registration, insurance verification and patient collections. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in insurance/registration roles, 1+ year supervisory experience, and a preference for CHAM certification; an associate degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Three years insurance, managed care, private physician's office practice or hospital registration experience required.
• One year supervisory experience required.
• Certification as CHAM preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise the daily operations of the Schedulers.
• Oversee scheduling, triage of urgent/emergent cases, pre-registration, insurance verification, pre-authorization and patient collections.
• Provide training, evaluate staff and enforce discipline to ensure quality service and access to care.
• Support department quality improvement programs and overall customer service goals.
