Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker with lead responsibilities in the absence of store management. You will help set up plan-o-grams, provide exceptional customer service, and contribute to profitability and teamwork while protecting assets.

Key duties include unloading trucks, stocking displays, operating the register, and ensuring a clean, organized store environment. This role emphasizes teamwork and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise according to store procedures.
• Greet customers and assist in locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and process payments, including making change.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe store areas; restock as needed.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and shelf replenishment.
• Ensure cashier accountability and security practices are followed.
• Open or close the store under the direction of the Area Manager.
