Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker to lead in the absence of store leadership, assist with plan-o-grams, and provide exemplary customer service. The role includes unloading trucks, stocking, checkout operations, and maintaining store appearance.

Strong attention to safety, cash handling, and teamwork is required. As a Dollar General team member, you will help maximize profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks following store procedures.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock, rotate and face merchandise; build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and total purchases; bag items.
• Collect payments and make change.
• Maintain front end cleanliness and displays.
• Monitor cash levels and assist deposits.
• Open/close the store under Area Manager direction.
