Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker with leadership responsibilities for coverage in the absence of Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. The role includes unloading trucks, stocking merchandise, maintaining plan-o-grams, and delivering outstanding customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities include operating the POS, totaling purchases, handling cash, and ensuring a clean, organized store.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Unload trucks according to the prescribed process for the store.
Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes following company processes.
Stock merchandise, rotate and face shelves, and build displays.
Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
Greet customers as they enter the store.
Operate cash register and total customer purchases; bag merchandise.
Collect payment and make change.
Maintain a clean, safe store environment and assist with curbside/sidewalk displays.
Provide superior customer service leadership.
Open/close the store under direction of Area Manager; manage refunds and deposits.
Monitor cashier accountability, key control, and cash security practices.
