Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Cashier/Stocker with leadership responsibilities in the absence of Store Manager or Assistant Manager. You will help maintain plan-o-grams, assist customers, and ensure a profitable, safe store environment with exemplary service.

Responsibilities include stocking, unloading trucks, operating the cash register, and supporting store operations to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize losses.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math calculations (add/sub/multiply/divide/percent).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks per store procedure.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock and rotate merchandise; build displays.
• Restock returned merchandise.
• Order zones and drops per Store Manager guidance.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Help customers locate merchandise.
• Keep store clean and safe; manage cashier area.
